🍁 Fall Immunity Superstars + 🩸 a Course for Girls + 🍎 Come Cook With Me!

It’s officially fall, but it feels a little like spring to me with not only the warmer weather but the busyness of diving into projects that were put on hold during the summer. In Chinese medicine we use the seasons as a metaphor for so many things – from describing and categorizing the acupuncture meridians and points to understanding the menstrual cycle. This idea that the menstrual cycle can be understood in the context of the seasons has gained a lot of popularity in recent years and I am excited to share with you a course for girls co-created by my local colleague, Ilana Ingber. Her course invites a curiosity and self-awareness around the menstrual cycle using the seasons as metaphors for the social, emotional and energetic changes that move through the month. Maybe Ilana will create a course for us adults one of these days! Please see below for more information about Ilana’s course for girls!

Come cook with me this fall! Another wonderful community resource coming up this fall is a community cooking program led by Zoe Chertov and I’m taking it! I have a little secret – I don’t love cooking! I love food and as a health practitioner I have been avidly reading for decades all the wonderful things that food can give us, and yet I am still just not much of a natural in the kitchen. I am very thankful that my husband does most of the cooking but I’d really love to contribute more to my family’s meal prep and I am beyond excited for Zoe’s upcoming 4-month community cooking container so I’m spreading the word! Here’s what you get: monthly community meal prep with 6-8 meals + grab and go snacks for the week ahead, WhatsApp community group for support throughout the month, 1 life coaching session with Ilana Ingber (yes, she’s everywhere, and that’s a good thing!!) and 2 thirty minute kitchen/cooking consults with ZoΓ« Chertov. Interested? Reply to this email and I will connect you with Zoe and Ilana. I’d love to see you there!

Seasons of My Cycle – Group Coaching for Girls 9-13 Starts in November!

My colleagues Ilana Ingber and Sydney Robilotta are on a mission to create empowering relationships with our bodies, our cycles and our periods! They have teamed up again to offer a life changing course for girls that will have them present to not only loving their bodies but also knowing how to harness the magic and creativity of their natural cycles. Ilana and Sydney are now enrolling girls ages 9-13 in their 6-week virtual course that starts November 15th. Contact Ilana for more info: [email protected].

I had the pleasure of talking with Ilana and Sydney this week. I learned that they have both been tracking their cycles for almost two years and have noticed that their creativity, energy and even self-criticism are clearly synched with their cycles, observations I frequently hear from patients in my practice. You can view our conversation by clicking below. After about 20 minutes we dive into the four seasons of the cycle. I love how authentic Ilana and Sydney are and I love what they are up to!

End of the Year Insurance Benefit Reminder

It’s that time of the year to “use or lose” your insurance benefits. Health Savings Accounts (HSA) typically renew January 1 as do medical benefits including acupuncture benefits. If you have been thinking about coming in for a treatment, now may be a good time!

Thank you for trusting me in your care!

Warmly,

Anne
